Therapy Sessions
I am a person-centred psychotherapist in training, meaning I do not direct the therapeutic process. At the heart of my practice is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to analyse or instruct, but to be alongside you, creating a compassionate space where you can explore whatever feels important, at your own pace.
What does person-centred psychotherapy entail?
In our sessions, I won’t lead with advice or solutions. Instead, I listen carefully, hold space, and gently reflect what I’m hearing with warmth and empathy. I trust that when you feel deeply heard and accepted, clarity and change can begin to emerge from within. The person-centred approach is grounded in the belief that the power of therapy lies in you forming your own insights and making your own decisions from them.
If you’ve had therapy before, you may notice that this feels different. I won’t set an agenda, interpret hidden meanings, or tell you what to do. The space belongs to you. Some people find that feelings straight away; others need a few sessions to settle into it, it can feel new and unfamiliar at first. Both are completely normal and we can talk about how it’s landing for you at any point.
Over time, many people find that a relationship built on trust and free from judgement allows them to reconnect with their inner sense of direction and self-worth. I believe when we are truly accepted change becomes possible.
What a session looks like?
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, creating a steady and supportive rhythm. Occasionally, I can arrange more frequent sessions or a double session if you feel you would benefit from additional holding. Additionally we can explore bi-weekly sessions if this feels more sustainable for you.
I work in an open-ended and long-term way with most clients, because change tends to happen gradually, as trust builds. However, we can explore blocks of 6 to 12 sessions if preferred.
Where does therapy take place?
My in-person sessions are held in either Richmond or Clapham. I host online sessions via Zoom's encrypted service. You choose what is most suitable for you, and can choose a hybrid of in-person and online if this suits your schedule and location better.
Fees
I offer a free 15min intro phone call to answer any questions you may have. After this ongoing sessions are £60 each.
I want cost to be as small a barrier as possible. I hold a small number of reduced-fee spaces, so if the fee is what's standing in the way, please do reach out and we can talk about it.
Getting Started…
The first step is a free introductory call. It's a chance to talk about what's bringing you to therapy, ask anything you'd like to know, and get a feel for whether working together feels right. There's no obligation to book after it.
