Meet Sophie

Sophie Redgrave. A young woman wearing a light blue floral dress and white sneakers standing in a lavender field under a cloudy sky, smiling with long hair and sunglasses on her head.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in event management, a career I thought I loved. On the outside, I was capable, organised and always one step ahead, making sure everything ran seamlessly. Inside, I was running on anxiety and never felt "enough". I had built a sense of worth tied to performance and other people's approval, trying to escape a deep-rooted belief that I was broken beyond repair.

In my mid-twenties, I began my own healing journey. Through the therapeutic process I experienced being deeply accepted and understood. I began to recognise that my coping mechanisms were not my flaws but ways I had learnt . to survive the adverse childhood experiences I had endured. What once had saved me was now holding me back.

Slowly, I began to accept myself. I developed self-trust, and learnt that the beliefs I held about myself had come from my past experiences, and were not who I am. I was given the gift of finding my own inner light, no longer dulled by other people's conditions or difficult experiences.

My work now is devoted to offering others the kind of space that allowed me to come home to myself. I understand what it is to feel not enough, and to live by other people's standards. I will meet you as a real human being, not as an expert above you, but as someone alongside you. I believe that no matter what someone has endured, they are not the darkness they have experienced.
